REVIEW: Kolmanskop by Raving Wild

I’ve never been to the desert, but Raving Wild’s Kolmanskop makes me feel like I’m venturing through sand dunes on a late afternoon. The melancholy ambiance transcends through the melody and harmonies, piercing into your reflective mind with the vocals.

Bringing in the mind the sound of City and Colour, Raving Wild’s lyrics narrate to you the solemnity of a journey worth taking. It illustrates a struggle of purpose and identity that hopes to find fulfilment.

Raving Wild is a singer songwriter based in Buckinghamshire, UK. He uses loop stations and harmony pedals and in conjunction to create sounds that are larger than a solo musician. He is writing his latest material after accidentally releasing a song and appearing on the BBC6 Fresh On The Net listening post.
